Summary

Melody is a very intelligent 11-year-old girl with no way to share her intelligence. She has Cerebral Palsy and cannot speak or control her movements very well. Her story takes us through the trials and errors she goes through to communicate with others and participate in school and extracurricular activities as a normal student. Because of her inability to communicate, she struggles with friendships, mean girls at school, and even a teacher who treats her as if she's less academically inclined. Read to find out how she handles and overcomes her challenges!

Review

★★★★★

This was an excellent, eye-opening story with subtle, yet deep emotionality. It ended the way it started which was a really interesting, but impactful circular writing choice. Every child and every educator should read this book.
